Display Bags

You can display bags in different ways from the DISPATCH menu:

By Airline/Airport, By Driver, By City, By Zip Code, or By Type of Service.

By default, the most recent BDOs are displayed at the top of the list. All BDOs created in the last seven days are included in the views.

The default view is the list view, but you can show bags in a grid if you prefer. See Bag List or Grid View.

Use the filters or the Search field to find bags you need to assign or action.

Search for Unassigned Bags

Unassigned bags are those not yet assigned to a specific driver.

In all DISPATCH bags screens, the most recent BDOs for unassigned bags are displayed at the top of the list.

You can also locate unassigned bags by sorting the list of bags by the Driver column, or using the Advanced Filters to filter by Unassigned bag status.

A message at the top of the screen indicates when you have set any of the Advanced Filters, and you can quickly clear or edit the filters applied.

Update the Type of Service

A type of service is used to distinguish deliveries with different costs, for example related to different service level agreements between the airline and the delivery company.

Display bags from the DISPATCH menu:

By Airline/Airport, By Driver, By City, By Zip Code, or By Type of Service.

Click the i button below Details & Action, then Select type of service, and select the service from the drop-down list.

Display Driver Schedules

The driver's schedule displays bag deliveries for today and for a number of days configured by the administrator.

Display any DISPATCH bags By — ... screen, then click See Schedule.

Schedule a Bag for Pickup

A Pickup time informs the driver when to collect the bag from the airline or bag warehouse.

  1. Select the bag or bags, right-click and select Schedule a Pickup.

  2. Choose the pickup tour and click Save.

Or:

  1. Select the bag or bags, right click and select Assign to Driver and Schedule Pickup.

  2. Choose the driver, choose the pickup tour, and click Save.

Assign Bags to a Driver using the Menu

  1. Select a single bag or multiple bags.

  2. Right-click and select Assign to Driver.

  3. Select the driver in the drop-down list and click Save.

    The status of the bag remains New, and the bag is visible to the driver in the My Bags tab of the BDS Driver App.

Assign Bags to a Driver for a Specific Delivery Tour

  1. Select a bag or bags to assign to a driver in the specific delivery tour.

  2. Click and hold down the left-mouse button over the drag icon.

  3. Drag the bags across the screen, which displays the Driver Schedule screen for today and the next two days.

  4. Drop the bags on the driver's delivery tour.

    Bags are assigned to the driver, the Delivery Scheduled time is set to the date and time of the tour, and the bag status changes to Delivery Scheduled.

Optimize a Delivery Route

From the Driver Schedule screen:

  1. Hover the cursor over the bags assigned to a driver, and click Optimize Route.

  2. An optimized route is calculated using Google Maps.

  3. To print a delivery manifest, which include the address, BDO, and bag type and tag number, click Print.

    The bags to deliver are visible to the assigned driver in the SCHEDULED tab of the BDS Driver App.

Unassign Bags (from a Driver)

Note:

You don't need to unassign bags before you assign them to a different driver. Use the Assign function to assign bags to the new driver.

  1. From any DISPATCH > By — screen, select a bag or bags assigned to a driver.

  2. Right-click and select Unassign.

  3. Click Save to confirm.

    The bags are now unassigned. Pickup drivers using the BDS Driver App can now see unassigned bags, which they can assign to themselves.

Display Bags by Driver

Display the DISPATCH > By Driver screen.

Or:

Apply the Driver filter on any Bags — By screen.

Display Overall Allocation of Bags to Drivers

From any DISPATCH > By — screen, click on See Allocation by Driver.

BDO Allocation By Driver indicates the relative workload for each driver according to the number of bag assigned, for the airport and all scheduled pick up dates.

Schedule a Delivery

The Delivery Scheduled date/time is when the driver expects to deliver a bag, and is used to notify the passenger when to expect the delivery.

  1. From any DISPATCH > By — screen, select a bag or bags.

  2. Right-click and select Schedule Delivery.

  3. Select the date and time and click Save.

    The Delivery Scheduled time is set, and the bag status changes to Delivery Scheduled.

Display a Driver's Location

Available for drivers with a known last location.

Choose DISPATCH > Map, then select the driver in the list on the left-side.

Or:

Display bag details and click the Locate on Map button.

Update a BDO

You can update a BDO to correct any passenger or delivery details, to make the delivery information more accurate for the driver. However, the changes you make are not reflected in the WorldTracer file history.

The changes you make are visible to you or the driver in the BDO Change Log. You cannot update a BDO when the bag has been delivered.

  1. From any DISPATCH > By — screen, display bag details.

  2. Click the i button, then the triple-dots to access the Bag menu.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Make the necessary changes to the Passenger or Delivery details, then click Update.

Add a Comment to a BDO

Any comments you add to a BDO are visible to the driver using the BDS Driver App.

  1. From any DISPATCH > By — screen, display bag details.

  2. Click the i button, then the triple-dots to access the Bag menu.

  3. Select Add Comment.

  4. Type the comment, then click Add Comment.

Cancel or Resume a Delivery

When you cancel a delivery, the bag is unassigned from the driver. The BDO remains in WebBDS, but the bag header changes to pink. You can resume (reinstate) a canceled delivery.

  1. From any DISPATCH > By — screen, display bag details.

  2. Click the i button, then the triple-dots to access the bag menu.

  3. Select Cancel Delivery.

  4. Enter the reason for the cancellation, then click Cancel Delivery.

To reinstate a canceled delivery, use the Resume Delivery option in the menu.

Display the BDO Change Log

You can display all the manual updates made to the BDO in WebBDS.

  1. From any DISPATCH > By — screen, display bag details.

  2. Click the i button, then the triple-dots to access the Bag menu.

  3. Select View Change Log.
